Peanut Butter Truffles

No bake Peanut Butter Truffles are the perfect holiday treat. Easy to make with just a few ingredients! I used my favorite peanut butter, Old Home Foods Creamy Honey Peanut Butter. Old Home’s regular creamy peanut butter would also work great.

Here’s what you need:

  • Old Home Foods Creamy Peanut Butter
  • powdered sugar
  • butter
  • dark chocolate chips
  • coconut oil
  • chopped peanuts
  • vanilla almond bark or white chocolate

Mix together the peanut butter and butter until combined. I softened my room temperature butter just slightly in the microwave. It wasn’t totally melted, but soft enough to easily combine with the creamy peanut butter. Since Old Home’s Peanut Butter is kept in the fridge, I let it sit out on the counter for a bit to become softer. Add in the powdered sugar and you’re ready to roll into balls.

I pop them into the freezer while I melt the chocolate. If they are nice and chilled when dipped in the chocolate, they set much nicer. I also pop them back into the freezer after dipping to set. It only takes a couple minutes!

If you are topping them with chopped peanuts, do so when they are still wet, right after dipping so they stick. If you’re doing a drizzle, chill the truffles so the chocolate is set before adding the drizzle.

I love to keep them in the fridge or freezer and enjoy them cold, just like peanut butter cups!

These Peanut Butter Truffles are perfect to whip up for any last minute holiday gifts or parties. Done in a pinch, and who doesn’t love a peanut butter and chocolate combo?! Find where you can get my favorite peanut butter by visiting Old Home Foods store finder here.

Peanut Butter Truffles

A simple, no bake treat for the holidays or anytime of year!

Servings 16 truffles
Author Laura Doerr

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Old Home Foods Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 3 tbsp softened butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

Optional toppings/decorations

  • Chopped peanuts
  • Vanilla almond bark drizzle
  • Festive sprinkles

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, stir together Old Home creamy peanut butter and softened butter until well combined. Stir in powdered sugar and salt. If mixture is too sticky or warm to roll into balls, pop the bowl in the freezer for a couple minutes.

  2. Roll into equal sized balls, and place onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Pop back into the freezer while you melt the chocolate.

  3. Add the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil into a small microwavable bowl. Microwave in 20-second increments, stirring in between until fully melted. Using a fork, dip each peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate, coating all sides. Place back onto the baking sheet. Repeat with all balls.

  4. Top with chopped peanuts or sprinkles while still wet. Place in freezer or fridge to set. If drizzling with almond bark or white chocolate, allow truffles to set in fridge or freezer before drizzling.

  5. Store in an air tight container in fridge.
