Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Protein Bites
These Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Protein Bites did not last long in my house. They’re so good we even enjoyed them as a little dessert. If you love the classic peanut butter and chocolate combination, you’ll really like these! They take almost no time to make. Mix in one bowl, scoop, and done.
Here’s what you need:
- peanut butter (all natural)
- protein powder
- oats
- chia seeds
- honey
- mini chocolate chips
Mix everything together in ONE bowl, that’s it!
If your mixture seems too wet, stir in a few more oats. If your mixture seems too dry and crumbly try adding 1 teaspoon of water at a time until you get a consistency that will form into balls. I used a mini cookie dough scoop, and made about 1 tablespoon sized balls.
Chill in the fridge, and then transfer to an air tight storage container. Keep them in the fridge and enjoy all week, or freeze for bite sized snacks later! They’ll be good in the freezer for about 3 months. They make a perfect afternoon snack!
I used vanilla protein powder because that is what we always have on hand for our morning shakes. It adds a nice touch of sweet vanilla flavor. Sometimes we have chocolate protein powder, and that would also be yummy. You could try omitting it altogether, but I have not tested the recipe that way, and the consistency may turn out different, and you’ll lose a bit of protein.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Protein Bites
The perfect bite sized snack or treat for when you just need a little something!
Ingredients
- 1 cup all natural peanut butter
- 1/4 cup protein powder (I use vanilla biPro brand)
- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 2 tbsps honey
- 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
-
In a medium bowl, stir together all ingredients. You want the mixture to be able to form balls. If it seems too wet, add a few more oats. If it's too thick, add a teaspoon of water at a time until the consistency works.
-
Using a mini (about 1-inch) scoop, form mixture into balls (about 1 tablespoon per ball). Store in an air tight container in the fridge for about a week, or freeze for up to three months.
Recipe Notes
The vanilla protein powder adds some nice flavor and a bit of sweetness. Chocolate protein powder would be really good too.
If you have a nut allergy, try them with sunflower butter. It has the same runny consistency as natural peanut butter so I think it would work great, although I have not tried it.
Your traditional jarred peanut butters with added ingredients may or may not work, I have not tried it, but may be too thick and sticky for these.
