BBQ Jackfruit Tacos with Avocado Mango Salsa
BBQ jackfruit tacos with avocado mango salsa might be my new go-to taco Tuesday. Okay some of you might be thinking…what the heck is jackfruit?! I’ve been seeing it pop up on more and more restaurant menus, and after we had some mini jackfruit tacos as an appetizer a few weeks ago, I knew I had to create a version for the blog. They were so good! Jackfruit is often used as a plant-based meat alternative because it has a similar consistency to pulled chicken or pork. Honestly if you didn’t tell someone it was jackfruit they may think they were eating meat!
You can find jackfruit in most grocery stores in the produce section, and there are brands that sell it already packaged which is what I used, and it can be found in the refrigerated section. Here is the brand I used. Some already come in a flavored sauce ready for sandwiches or tacos, or you can buy it plain and toss it in your own sauce!
I thought a mango avocado salsa would pair perfectly with these tacos. Jackfruit has a natural tangy kick to it, so the cool creamy avocado and sweet mango really compliment the jackfruit. The salsa also makes for a great snack! I actually used pre-cut mango from the produce section and just diced it up, so much easier!
Try something new for meatless Monday or taco Tuesday! Let me know how you like it, enjoy!

Recipe Notes
I have also used pre-cut mango from the grocery store and that worked great. It was already ripe enough so I didn’t have to wait for my whole mango to ripen. If you want the salsa to have more heat, leave the jalapeno seeds and membrane in tact, so you’ll get all the heat!
I found pre-packaged jackfruit in the refrigerated section of my local grocery store. You can buy pre-seasoned flavors as well.
