Garlic Parmesan Orzo
I am always looking for new non-boring sides. I am a sides person; most of the time I am more interested in the sides than the main event. Pastas, salads, potatoes, breads, all the good carbs! This recipe was generated from All Recipes and I pretty much followed it as is except for the cheese type. Any time a recipe calls for Parmesan cheese I usually use fresh grated imported from the specialty cheese section. It is a little pricey but to me the nutty and salty flavor is worth it!
This recipe is a great addition to any baked or grilled chicken dish, or add chopped chicken for a one pot meal!
Garlic Parmesan Orzo

- 2 tsp fresh minced garlic
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp milk

- 1/2 tsp salt and pepper
Instructions
-
Bring pot of water to a boil, lightly salted. Cook orzo pasta until cooked through but firm, about 11 minutes. Drain.
-
In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and stir in minced garlic, cook for about 5 minutes. Stir in the orzo, cheese, milk, parsley, salt and pepper. Stir until combined and cheese is melted, sauce will thicken as it sits.
