Bourbon BBQ Meatball Sliders
Oh baby this bourbon sauce is delicious! It’s easy, uses simple ingredients, and comes together in no time! With my All Purpose Meatballs ready in the freezer, these little guys were ready in about 15 minutes! The sauce has the perfect amount of bourbon kick without taking over the sauce. You still get that great sweet, smokey, savory BBQ flavor in every bite!
I used store bought pretzel rolls and they worked PERFECTLY! I found them in the deli area of my local store. You could use any slider bun that you like, these were just a great match for this recipe. They softened up so nicely in the oven, with that bit of salt on top, yum! I also used one of those store bought coleslaw kits, it was perfect for this quick lunch. If you have a great slaw recipe you like, definitely use that, otherwise save some time and buy your favorite!
These are perfect for hosting a little party, they certainty wont last long! You could even just serve these meatballs and sauce in a crock pot for an appetizer too, definitely a crowd favorite!

- prepared coleslaw
For the sauce
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 1/3 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/3 cup bourbon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp apricot preserves
- 1 tbsp honey mustard
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp fresh cracked black pepper
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
-
In a sauce pan over medium heat whisk together all of the sauce ingredients. Bring to a simmer, add meatballs, and cook for about 10 minutes until meatballs are heated through.
-
While the meatballs and sauce are heating, add the packaged salt to the pretzel rolls as directed on the packaging. Slice the pretzel rolls and place onto a baking sheet. Heat in the preheated oven for about 3-5 minutes, just until heated through or lightly toasted.
-
To assemble sliders, add 2 meatballs to each bottom bun, top with prepared coleslaw, and top with bun. Enjoy immediately!
Recipe Notes
I used mini pretzel rolls for these and they worked great, and were delish! Any slider bun would work though like Hawaiian buns, yum!
You may need to adjust your number of meatballs depending on what size they are, and what size your buns are. The sauce makes plenty and would go further than 12 meatballs if you decide to make more. Leftover sauce could be saved, refrigerated, and used for up to a week.
