Sometimes I forget how much I love sour cream, it makes the perfect base to all of these delicious flavors. The sweet, spicy, and smoky hot honey bacon on top really makes it!

FRENCH ONION GREEN BEAN ALMONDINE (#ad) It’s go

FRENCH ONION GREEN BEAN ALMONDINE

(#ad) It’s got green bean casserole vibes but elevated with the help of @oldhomefoods French Onion Dip. It pairs perfectly with the classic flavors of green beans almondine. Delicious for any holiday table, or side dish all year round!

Ingredients:
1 lb. green beans or haricot verts, trimmed
2/3 cup Old Home Foods French Onion dip
¼ cup vegetable broth (any stock/broth works)
3 Tbsp butter or olive oil
¼ cup sliced almonds, toasted
1 shallot, thinly sliced into rings
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice, plus zest of 1 lemon
Kosher salt and black pepper

Directions:
Bring a medium saucepan of water to a boil (about 2/3 full), and add a generous pinch of kosher salt. Add in green beans and boil until crisp-tender, about 2-3 minutes. Prepare a large bowl of ice water. Drain the green beans and immediately add them to the ice water to stop the cooking. Drain again, and lay on a paper towel, and pat dry.

In a small skillet over medium-low heat, whisk to combine the French Onion Dip and broth. Add a bit of black pepper. Warm through for 1-2 minutes and set aside. In a medium skillet add butter or olive oil over medium heat. Stir in shallots, and cook until lightly browned, about 2 minutes. Stir in garlic and most of the almonds (saving some for garnish). Stir in lemon juice and add in the green beans. Toss and warm through, 1-2 minutes. Transfer to a serving dish, and spoon the French Onion sauce over the top. Garnish with lemon zest and toasted almonds. Serve immediately.

COTTAGE CHEESE QUESO (#ad)

I hope this trend isn’t over because I’m still totally into it! Whipped @oldhomefoods cottage cheese, seasonings, a little shredded cheese and mix-ins and you’ve got a dreamy game day dip!

Make it meatless or add in some extra spice, however you like it! Recipe below!

Ingredients:
2 cups Old Home Food Cottage Cheese
1 cup shredded Cheddar Jack cheese
10 oz diced tomatoes and green chiles blend (such as Rotel)
2 tbsp taco seasoning
4 oz can diced jalapenos or green chiles
Optional- ½ pound taco seasoned cooked ground beef or cooked chorizo sausage

Directions:
In a high-powered blender (for smoother results) or a food processor, blend together cottage cheese, shredded cheese, can of tomatoes, and taco seasoning until smooth or desired consistency is reached.

Transfer to a skillet or saucepan over low heat. Stir in diced jalapenos or green chiles, and ground beef or sausage. Continue to stir over low heat until queso is heated through. Add in additional hot sauce for heat, or spicy salsa for added kick. Serve warm with your favorite dippers!

NEW FAV FALL TREAT ALERT! (#ad)

I picked up Baskin-Robbins® at Home Pralines ‘N Cream and paired it with a little pumpkin bread from the bakery…and WOW was I blown away. The flavor combo was so so delicious. Creamy vanilla ice cream with praline-coated pecan pieces and a caramel ribbon.

I’m normally a ‘cookies or dough in ice cream’ kinda gal, but I think this little parfait combo is my new favorite fall treat…a MUST try!
