Cottage Cheese Berry Smoothie Bowls
Cottage Cheese Berry Smoothie Bowls are a protein packed breakfast or snack with the perfect amount of sweetness and crunch! Old Home Foods Cottage Cheese and frozen berries get blended together for a dreamy base to all your favorite toppings.
This post is sponsored by Old Home Foods, but all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
I used 1% milk fat Old Home Cottage Cheese because that is my go-to and I always have it in my fridge. Frozen berries are a staple in my freezer for smoothies. I used a mixed berry variety, but any frozen fruit would work. Using frozen fruit helps keep the cottage cheese blend nice and thick and cold. I did not test this with fresh berries.
If you like it sweeter, add in a drizzle of honey, maple syrup, or other sweetener of choice. I found that it wasn’t needed since I was serving with fresh sweet berries. You could also drizzle with honey after assembly for added sweetness.
Top with anything you like! I used a peanut butter granola for a pb&j vibe, so good! I always have fresh berries in my fridge so I used strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries. A banana and peanut butter bowl would also be a great combo. You could blend in a frozen banana, and then slice fresh ones on top, yummy!
Another tasty add-in is chia seeds for extra fiber and protein. This recipe would work great for a build-your-own-bowl brunch or shower spread. Just make extra cottage cheese smoothie mixture and set out a variety of toppings. Perfect for summer! Recipe Notes
The frozen berries keep the cottage cheese mixture nice and firm and chilled. You could use fresh berries as well, but I did not test that version.
Your topping options are really endless! Use anything you like. Peanut butter, bananas, chopped peanuts, almond butter, chia seeds for extra fiber and protein, granola clusters, and any fruit you like.
