  • 2ΒΌ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 10 oz pkg dark chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup toffee bits

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  2. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

  3. In the bowl of a stand mixer or large mixing bowl add butter, white and brown sugars, and vanilla extract. Beat together until well creamed. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each one. Add flour gradually and mix until combined. Stir in dark chocolate chips and toffee bits.

  4. Drop spoonfuls (or use a cookie scoop) onto an ungreased, or parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden on the edges, and soft in the center. Cool on baking sheet. Store in an air tight container.

Recipe Notes

Love nuts in your cookies? Toasted walnuts would be really good in these cookies.

For an added nutty flavor, try browning the butter, or 1 stick of the butter. Check out the link in the original blog post on How to Brown Butter.
