Season the roast with salt and pepper on all sides.
In a medium bowl combine the French onion soup, soy sauce, balsamic, and tomatoes. Pour 1/3 of the mixture into the bottom of the slow cooker. Place roast in crock pot, and pour the remaining mixture over the roast. Drop in the smashed garlic cloves. Cook on low for 8-10 hours.
Serve with your favorite sides like mashed potatoes, pasta, or veggies! Delicious as a sandwich or hoagie French dip roll.
